Looking After Your Candle
The First Burn
When lighting for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the vessel. This helps prevent tunnelling and promotes an even burn throughout the life of the candle. This may take 2–4 hours.
Trim Your Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 6mm. This helps reduce soot, prevents mushrooming, and encourages a cleaner, steadier flame.
Keep the Wax Clean
Keep the wax pool free from wick trimmings, matches, and other debris at all times.
How to Extinguish
Use a candle snuffer where possible, or dip the wick into the melted wax and straighten it again. Avoid blowing out the candle, as this may cause smoke and splatter hot wax.
Avoid Drafts
Drafts can shorten burn time, cause uneven burning, and affect scent throw.
Storage
Store candles in a cool, dark, dry place. For best results, do not burn the candle down to the very base of the vessel. Stop burning when approximately 10mm of wax remains.
